Dust: Working Up a Sweat
From "Talking Dirty With the Queen of Clean"
episode DQOC-142 -- More Projects »

PHOTO

Guest Steve Markovich shows you how to make dusting a regular part of your exercise routine.
Steve Markovich has taken time management to new heights. Heights that require dusting mitts. The results are a clean home, a great physique and more time to play with the kids. Steve previously used the training techniques of boxing and kick boxing, along with time on the golf course, to stay in excellent shape. But after having a family, he started looking for ways to stay in shape while spending quality time with his children. His solution -- clean the house.

In place of gym time, Steve developed a work out that combines exercise with cleaning. House cleaning can be a productive way to get a workout, since a person weighing 130 pounds can burn approximately 218 calories cleaning house for just one hour. Steve's routine has been such a success he's produced a video to help people get in shape while cleaning (figure A).

Steve's commitment to fitness has resulted in a healthy lifestyle and healthy home for the entire family (figure B). By keeping a fit body and a clean home, Steve hopes to be a role model to his children, encouraging them to incorporate fitness and the understanding of a daily work ethic into their lives at an early age. And occasionally, the reward for all this hard work pays off, by way of a double order of French fries.
